Because I Love Chocolate

This morning, my husband and I woke up at 8:50 to go to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate sale where they sell all their “defective” chocolates for a lot cheaper than you would find their product in their store. We bought 6.5 pounds of chocolate for about $21. I say it was a pretty good haul for us, considering our lowly college student budget. It was sort of funny to see how shocked he was that we bought that much. He actually had to cut me off because I saw other little things I wanted to try. He is the constant reminder that we live on a budget.

I am a chocolate fiend. I will try just about any chocolate once, and I have a few favorites: s’mores, chocolate covered pretzels, truffles (especially with Kahlua in them, like my Nana’s), peanut butter filled chocolate…I could go on. With my love of chocolate, it seems like it would be a ton of fun to be a chocolate connoisseur. I don’t even know if there is such a person, but I want to be one. I mean, how fun would it be to go around to different chocolate companies and sample their chocolates and become an expert? Loads.

Has anyone else ever entertained this idea? Is anyone else as big of a chocolate fan as I am? What are your favorite chocolate companies?

After living in Colorado for four years, I love Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. It’s pretty neat that the factory is just up the road from our apartment too. But I grew up on Hershey’s because my dad grew up about 45 minutes from Hershey, PA. I grew up near San Francisco, though, so I also love Ghirardelli. Those are my top three. But I’d love to try other chocolate companies. I love local things, so maybe I’ll try one of the other local chocolate companies here (there’s only one that I know of).

Well, I guess I’ll just go eat my new chocolate now. Now that I’m thinking about it…Yum. I’m looking forward to the first bite of…something. I don’t know which I’ll have first…

Have a sweet day!
